Women’s Basketball Downed by Lewis-Clark State 65-57

LEWISTON, Idaho. – The No. 9 Eastern Oregon women's basketball team fell on Saturday night to host Lewis-Clark State 65-57 to end the LCSC Classic.
 
Both teams shot under 40 percent from the field in the matchup, but the Warriors earned their biggest advantage from the free-throw line going 12-for-14 from the charity stripe.
 
LCSC got off to a fast start at 24-14 after the first quarter and used a strong defense to hold off the Mountaineers (3-2) for the remainder of the night.
 
EOU's best shooting period came in the fourth quarter when they went 9-for-17 from the field (52.94%), outscoring the Warriors 19-16. The Mounties pulled to within six points with 3:20 to play, but were unable to get any closer in their comeback attempt.
 
Senior Rachel Fielder had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Beverly Slater nearly had a second-straight double-double, scoring 11 points with nine rebounds. Senior Emma Logan had six points and six assists and senior Andi Warn added seven points.
 
The Mountaineers are next across the country in Boston, Mass., visiting Fisher on Saturday at 1 p.m. Eastern time.
