No. 10 Mounties Win 20th in a Row, 111-48 over Walla Walla

LA GRANDE, Ore. – The No. 10 Eastern Oregon women's basketball team increased its win streak to 20 games, thrashing Walla Walla 111-48 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play on Saturday night at Quinn Coliseum.

The Mountaineers (20-2, 14-0 CCC) shot a remarkable 52.6 percent from behind the arc, knocking down 20-for-38 treys in the game. Junior Whitney Meier led the onslaught from three, shooting 5-for-6 for 18 points in just 15 minutes on the floor.

EOU once again got points from all 13 players in a season-high offensive putout. Six players were in double-digits, including Meier. Senior Maya Ah You Dias had 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 13 minutes of play. Sophomore Jillian Albright posted 12 points with five boards, sophomore Brandy Smith had 11 points, junior Madison Crews had 11 points, nine assists and four rebounds while senior Maren Herrud had a double-double of 10 points and 10 assists.

It was another wire-to-wire victory for EOU, who won its 43rd-straight CCC regular season game and 41st game in a row at home at Quinn Coliseum.

Head coach Anji Weissenfluh fully utilized her bench with all 13 players playing 13 or more minutes. Albright led the team with 20 minutes on the floor. The team shot a combined 53.2 percent from the field that included a mark of 62.5 percent in the first half.

EOU once again dominated the boards, finishing with a 49-21 advantage that included 20 offensive rebounds. Junior Kylie Smith had seven offensive boards for eight on the night while Beverly Slater also had eight boards to lead the team.

The Blue and Gold nearly reached the program record for assists in a game, falling four short with 38 as a team.  Along with Herrud and Crews' big nights dishing out passes, freshman Shelby Starr also chipped in with five assists.

111 points is the team's high of the season, and the most for EOU since Feb. 9, 2018 when they scored 118 at Warner Pacific.

Titi Graham led Walla Walla with 16 points while Britnee Guerrero posted 13 points.

The Mountaineers are back on the road on Friday, visiting Northwest at 5:30 p.m. in Olympia, Washington.
