Men’s Wrestling Crushes Warner Pacific 41-9

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon men's wrestling team earned a dominant 41-9 victory over Warner Pacific, earning the team's first Cascade Collegiate Conference win of the season on the road Friday.

As usual in 2018, senior and No.7 ranked Mhar Caballa opened an EOU men's wrestling dual with a victory, defeating Connor Finch 19-13 at 125 pounds. The Mountaineers won four of the first five matches to start the evening to grab a stranglehold of the dual early.

At 133 pounds, No. 11 junior Blake McNall posted a win by technical fall over Lucas Higginbotham, not giving up a point in the 16-0 dominating victory. After a loss at 141 pounds, redshirt freshman Jared Brant answered back with an EOU victory, an 8-2 decision over Aaron Vang, to grab three more points for the Mounties.

From there, it was nearly all Mountaineers, as EOU won the next five matches by either fall or forfeit.

Sophomore Keegan Mulhill won by a first round fall in 1:59, defeating Chas Peterson. Senior Jacob Dupuis had a crushing 52-second pin at 165 pounds over WPU's Wyatt Kesler. No. 3-ranked senior Drake Randall earned a third-round pin over Jonathan Moskowitz at 174 pounds

EOU won at 184 and 197 pounds by forfeit to finish with 41 team points on the night. The Knights picked up their first fall of the evening in the heavyweight matchup.

The Mountaineers (6-4, 1-3 CCC) will wrestle Saturday at the Clackamas Duals taking on Southwestern Oregon CC, Highline CC and Umpqua CC. Action from Oregon City begins at 10 a.m.
