Herrud’s 20 Points Lead No. 14 EOU Over Corban 72-64

SALEM, Ore. – Senior Maren Herrud scored 20 points in just 19 minutes while Maya Ah You Dias added 19 points in her second game back as the No. 14 Eastern Oregon women's basketball team extended its winning streak to nine games with a 72-64 victory over Corban on Sunday evening.

The Mountaineers (9-2, 4-0 CCC) won their 34th straight Cascade Collegiate Conference regular season game and 40th in a row against a CCC opponent by defeating Corban. EOU has not lost to a conference opponent since the 2016-17 season after finishing 20-0 a year ago.

EOU used an impressive 28-17 third quarter to come from behind against the Warriors (6-6, 1-2 CCC) on Sunday. The Mounties trailed at halftime 32-25, but overcame the deficit in the second half. EOU shot nearly 60 percent from the field in the third quarter and 5-of-9 from behind the arc.

Herrud came off the bench to provide a spark for the offense, shooting 4-for-5 from long range and a perfect 6-for-6 at the free throw line. The game is her second-straight 20-point performance after posting 22 a night prior at Northwest Christian. The senior also added five rebounds.

Ah You Dias tallied 18 points with seven rebounds in her second game of the season, showing no rush in her first weekend of action. Juniors Jane Nelson and Madison Crews each added eight points. Crews led the team with four assists, adding six rebounds. Senior Julia Hanni had seven points, four rebounds and three assists.

EOU's free throw shooting came up clutch down the stretch of the game, as the team finished 15-for-20 from the charity stripe, including making their last five attempts.

Jordan Woodvine's 23 points led the Warriors while Treasure Farmer had 16.

The Mountaineers will next play on the road once again, facing I-84 rival College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho. The teams will square off on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. Mountain time.
