Ah You Dias, Parrish Reach Career Milestones as Mounties Win 9th Straight

OLYMPIA, Wash. – On a night when Maya Ah You-Dias and Payton Parrish each reached the 1,000 career points plateau, the No. 8 Eastern Oregon women's basketball team won its ninth-straight game, defeating Evergreen 94-68.

Entering the game with 984 career points, Ah You Dias made quick work reaching 1,000 points in her career after scoring 21 in the first half on 8-of-8 shooting. Her basket with 2:56 left in the second quarter gave her 16 points and 1,000 for her incredible career. The junior guard finished with a team-high 23 points in 24 minutes played.

In the third quarter, Parrish netted her third three-pointer of the game, giving her the nine points she needed to also reach the 1,000-point mark for her career. The senior went 3-for-7 from behind the arc, finishing with nine points.

"I am so proud of both Maya and Payton," said head coach Anji Weissenfluh. "These two work hard every game and every practice. They have given so much to our program over the years and the fact that they accomplished this on the same night makes it even more special."

The Mountaineers (15-2, 8-0 CCC) also received impressive performances from senior forwards Stormee Van Belle and Mariah Swanson. Van Belle posted 20 points with 10 field goals made and nine rebounds while Swanson nearly had a triple-double with 15 points, nine boards and eight assists. Junior guard Maren Herrud added 15 points and senior guard Reece Bauer had eight points and six assists.

The Blue and Gold opened the game with red-hot shooting, going 15-for-18 (83.3%) from the field in the first quarter. They continued to shoot lights out in the second quarter, putting up back-to-back quarters of 30 points or more.

By the end of the game, EOU shot 60 percent from the floor and 52.4 percent from behind the arc. The Mounties were dominant in the paint with a 44-24 point advantage over the Geoducks. EOU continued its impressive ball movement, recording 28 assists on 39 made field goals.

Evergreen (5-6, 3-4 CCC) had a productive offensive night, particularly in the first half when they scored over 51 percent from the field. The Geoducks had four players in double-digit points led by Cayla Jones with 16 points and Cierra Moss with 14 points.

The Mountaineers will look to win their 10th-straight game on Saturday, visiting Northwest in Kirkland, Washington at 5:30 p.m.
