Wells Nets Hat Trick; EOU Men’s Soccer Rolls Past Warner Pacific, 4-0

PORTLAND, Ore. – The EOU men's soccer team (7-5-1, 4-4-1 CCC) got its offense on track Saturday night against Warner Pacific (1-7) as senior forward Julian Wells paved the way netting a hat trick at Damazo Field.

The Blue and Gold wasted no time as they jumped on the Knights in the fifth minute courtesy of Wells off an assist from senior midfielder Carlos Peregrina. It was Wells' fourth tally of the season and first since Sept. 23.

Junior forward Aldo Rivas attempted to bump up the score but could not get past WP keeper Bailey Thomason in the 12th tick. The next shot for the Blue and Gold would not come until the 34th minute and it proved to be Wells' second of the match.

The junior found himself free in open space after a through ball connected past midfield from sophomore Taylor Willman. From there, it was all Wells as he went 1v1 past his defender for the score.

At the half, the Mounties held a 2-0 advantage, despite being outshot by one, 6-5.

In the 58th minute, Wells complete his quest for the hat trick – third hat trick ever recorded in program history – to extend the Blue and Gold's lead to three.

Warner Pacific pushed men forward to try and trim the deficit and almost did in the 60th minute of play but freshman keeper Alex Mitchell was in position for his third save of the night.

EOU was not done just yet as Rivas netted the final goal of the night off an assist from sophomore forward Alex Gutierrez at the 64th minute mark.

Mitchell inside the box logged four saves and now moves to 2-1 on the season.
