No. 19 EOU Women’s Basketball Routs Multnomah, 85-49

LA GRANDE, Ore. – The 19- ranked EOU women's basketball team produced 52 points off the bench Sunday afternoon while shooting 46.2 % from the field to secure its tenth straight win and remain perfect in conference play.
 
Senior guard Darian Gasseling led all Mountaineers in scoring with 14 points and registered a season-high six rebounds along with five assists. Junior guard Khadija Neumeyer tallied a career-high 11 points in 17 minutes of action as four others scored nine points apiece.

EOU (15-2, 8-0 CCC) grabbed control of the game when junior forward Stormee Van Belle made back-to-back jumpers to give the Blue and Gold a one-point advantage (4-3) and never looked back. A layup from junior guard Maya Ah You (Dias) and two jumpers from Gasseling would ignite a 14-5 run to cap off the first stanza (18-8).

In the second period, junior guard Jessica Sexson and senior guard Donniesha Webber opened up the scoring with consecutive triples to extend the margin to 16 (24-8).  Over the next five minutes of play, the Lions (4-12, 2-6 CCC) would miss eight straight shots, and only garner a total of eight points as the Blue and Gold went 7-for-11 from deep to finish the second period with 31 points, heading into the locker room with a 49-16 advantage.

In the third, EOU pushed its lead to 38 points, outscoring the Lions, 17-12, in the frame. Junior guards Reece Bauer and Ah You-Dias connected on layups for the first four points as Webber tallied five points, finishing with nine on the night.
