OLYMPIA, Wash. – EOU head volleyball coach Kaki McLean Morehead improved to 20-0 against Evergreen, and the Mountaineers coasted to a three-set (25-16, 25-15, 25-13) victory over the Geoducks.

With the triumph, the Blue and Gold won its 13th in a row and improved to 6-0 in Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) play. Meanwhile, Evergreen dropped to 2-10 on the year and 1-5 in league action.

For the fourth-consecutive match, junior outside hitter Amanda Miller earned team-high honors for kills with 10, and she also passed McLean Morehead in the EOU record books to rank sixth all-time for career kills. Senior outside hitter Sierra Linke delivered three aces, while senior setter Rachelle Chamberlain recorded 32 assists and nine digs.

Up 7-6 in set one, Miller hammered down a kill to ignite a 13-6 run to stretch EOU's advantage to eight (20-12). Freshman hitter Megan Bunn swatted one down to lift the Mountaineers to set point (24-14), and the Geoducks netted two-straight points before Bunn put another away to give EOU a 1-0 lead.

The second frame saw EOU jump to a 7-2 lead before Evergreen fired back with five straight to knot the set. Bunn connected with three-straight kills to spark a 14-4 run to put the Blue and Gold up double digits (21-11), and the Mountaineers ultimately pulled away with a 25-15 win.

The third stanza was all EOU, as the Mountaineers tallied 19 of the first 24 points to grasp a 14-point (19-5) lead. Up 23-11, junior right-side hitter Isabelle Statkus and junior middle hitter Emily Nay both netted kills to clinch the Blue and Gold's 11th three-setter of the season.
