EOU Women’s Soccer Ties UC-Merced, 0-0

MERCED, Calif. – The EOU women's soccer team continued its road swing on Sunday afternoon, battling UC-Merced to a scoreless, double-overtime draw.

Despite the tie, UC-Merced (2-1-3) outshot the Mounties, 13-8. In shots on goal, EOU (3-2-1) dominated the Bobcats, 6-2.

Bobcat goalie Maggie Morales had a huge first half for UC-Merced, saving potential goals from freshman forward Nan Kiebert and junior forward Anna Roslander.

The Blue and Gold notched more opportunities in the second half but couldn't capitalize. In the 52nd minute, junior midfielder Makensie Forsyth attempted to give EOU the first tally of the match, but UC-Merced keeper Gabby Vinco delivered her first save of the game.

EOU's keeper was just as stout, as freshman Sonia Nichols stopped a potential game-winner midway through the second half and another with just over three minutes remaining in the second overtime.
