Women's Basketball Weekly Notes: CCC Championship

Eastern Oregon Mountaineers (26-5) vs. Oregon Tech Owls (22-10)

CCC Championship
The Eastern Oregon University faces Oregon Tech Owls on Monday, March 2nd in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship game at 7 p.m. PT at Quinn Coliseum.
 
Tickets
Tickets for the CCC Tournament held at EOU will have ticket prices as followed: $10 for Reserved Seats, $6 for General Admission and $2 for EOU Students (with ID) and Youth (12 and under). The first 100 EOU students will receive free admission.
 
Selection Wednesday
By winning the Cascade Collegiate Conference Regular Season Championship, the Mountaineers have qualified for the 2015 NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship presented by State Farm. The NAIA will announce on Wednesday, March 4 all the teams that have qualified for the NAIA National Championship. The qualifiers will be announced by 1 p.m. PT. EOU will also find out who they play on March 4 at 5 p.m. PT when they NAIA reveals their tournament bracket.
 
Looking at Oregon Tech
The Owls of Oregon Tech enter the CCC Championship game with a 22-10 overall record. Oregon Tech defeated the second seed Southern Oregon, 77-74, on Friday night to advance to the game. The Owls are led by Karly LeVeque who is averaging 12.0 points per game. Tess Armstrong follows with 10.0 points per game and they are the only two Owls averaging double figures on the season. As a team, Oregon Tech is averaging 67.2 points per game and are shooting 40.5 percent from the floor.
 
Previous Meetings this Season
The Mountaineer and Owls squared off twice during the regular season. On Dec. 20 EOU defeated Oregon Tech, 72-56, at Oregon Tech. EOU also beat the Owls on Jan 23 at Quinn Coliseum, 78-66.
 
No Three Pointers
In Friday night's CCC Tournament Semifinal contest, the Mountaineers did not hit a 3-pointer. This was the first time since Feb. 15, 2008 that EOU did not hit a 3-pointer in a game.
 
Top Defenses
The Mountaineers and Owls are the two defensives teams in the CCC. The Mountaineers are only allowing 56.3 points per game, the fewest points per game in the CCC. Oregon Tech is averaging 57.9 points per game, the second fewest in the CCC.
 
CCC Regular Season Champions
With the Mountaineers win last Saturday night against Evergreen, the Eastern Oregon women's basketball team clinched their third straight conference regular season championship. This is their sixth conference regular season championship since the 2011-02 season.
 
CCC Semifinals
The No. 17 Eastern Oregon University Women's Basketball Team defeated Northwest Christian University, 58-52, on Friday night at Quinn Coliseum. With the victory, the Mountaineers advance to the CCC Tournament Championship Game. Madeline Laan led the Mountaineers (26-5) with 18 points, on 6-of-8 shooting. Airashay Rogers followed with 17 points to extend the Mountaineers' winning streak to 12 straight games.

The Eastern Oregon University will play at the 2015 NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship presented by State Farm. EOU will find out on Wednesday, who they play.
