Women's Basketball Weekly Notes: Concordia

CCC Tournament
The Eastern Oregon opens up the CCC Tournament tomorrow, Feb. 24 when they host Concordia. The Mountaineers enter the tournament as the No. 1 seed with a 24-5 overall record and a 16-2 mark in conference play. The Semifinals of the CCC Tournament will take place on Friday, Feb. 27th and the Championship is on Monday, March 2nd.

Tickets
Tickets for the CCC Tournament held at EOU will have ticket prices as followed: $10 for Reserved Seats, $6 for General Admission and $2 for EOU Students (with ID) and Youth (12 and under). The first 100 EOU students will receive free admission.

CCC Regular Season Champions
With the Mountaineers win on Saturday night against Evergreen, the Eastern Oregon women's basketball team clinched their third straight conference regular season championship. This is their sixth conference regular season championship since the 2011-02 season.

National Bound
By winning the CCC Regular Season Title, the Eastern Oregon University women's basketball team has clinched a spot in the 2015 NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship presented by State Farm. This is the fourth straight year for the Mountaineers to head to Nationals.

Looking at Concordia
The Cavaliers of Concordia enter the CCC Tournament with a record of 12-15 and 6-12 in CCC action. Concordia has dropped their last three games, and in their last game were defeated by Southern Oregon, 90-66. On the season,The Cavaliers are led by Sierra Dean who is averaging 13.3 points per game. Lexi Campbell follows with 11.2 points per game to round out the double figure scorers for Concordia. On the season, Concordia is averaging 63.9 points per game, while shooting 38 percent from the field.

Previous Matchups With Concordia
The Mountaineers have squared off with the Cavaliers twice this season, with EOU coming away with two victories. On Jan. 2nd the Mountaineer defeated Concordia, 72-46.

Perfect at Home
The Mountaineers have been perfect this season at home as they have won all 12 games they have played at Quinn Coliseum. EOU looks to continue that trend tomorrow night when they host Concordia.

Last Week
The Mountaineers ran their winning streak to 10 games after defeating Northwest and Evergreen this past weekend. EOU defeated Northwest University, 64-56,on Fridaynight. Maya Ah Youled the Mountaineers (23-5, 15-2 CCC) with 15 points.Airashay Rogersfollowed with 13 points to extend EOU's winning streak to nine games. The No. 17 Eastern Oregon University Women's Basketball team claimed their third straight Cascade Collegiate Conference ChampionshipSaturdaynight with a 63-59 victory over The Evergreen State College. By winning the regular season, the Mountaineers have earned an automatic berth into the 2015 NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship. This is the fourth straight season EOU has went to the National Championships. Airashay Rogersled the Mountaineers (24-5, 16-2 CCC) with 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting.Madeline Laanadded 10 points to round out the double figure scorers for the Mountaineers, who won their tenth straight contest.

What's Up Next
With a win the Mountaineers will be in action on Friday, Feb. 27 when they host their semifinals contest.
