LEWISTON, Idaho – After starting out the game strong thanks to a pair of three's from senior forward Nikki Osborne, the Eastern Oregon University women's basketball team went ice cold from the field, and the Mountaineers ultimately suffered a 60-43 setback at the hands of Lewis-Clark State.
Key Performances
Osborne was the lone player in double figures for the Navy and Gold with 11 points on 4-for-9 shooting. She also pulled down six boards and added two assists. Meanwhile, junior transfer Darian Gasseling chipped in eight points off the bench.
It was all Caelyn Orlandi for Lewis-Clark State, as she registered a game-high 22 points and drilled six three's.
The Storyline
Osborne netted the first eight points, including two jumpers from downtown, to grant the Mountaineers an early 8-5 lead with 5:22 left in the first quarter. Sophomore guard Payton Parrish swooshed a three to put EOU up by four (11-7), but Lewis-Clark State closed the first frame with a 7-3 burst to take the lead.
The second quarter saw EOU hit just one field goal, as Lewis-Clark State opened the stanza with a 12-2 run to take control, 26-15, with 4:12 left in the first half.
After trailing by 14 (31-17) at the break, the Mountaineers got to within 12 on six occasions before Lewis-Clark State pulled off the 17-point victory.

11 – Lewis-Clark State nailed 11 three-pointers in the game, while EOU went just 4-for-29 from beyond the arc.
