This Week
This weekend the Mountaineers travel to Lewiston, Idaho to face Simpson University and Lewis-Clark State College in the L-C Classic. The Mountaineers will face Simpson on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Lewis-Clark State on Sunday at 2 p.m. Live stats and video links are located on EOUsports.com for each game.
 
Coaches' Top 25
In the second regular season edition of the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers are receiving votes. EOU received four points in this edition of the Coaches' Poll. The third edition of the Top 25 comes out on Jan. 6th.
 
Earlier This Season vs. Simpson
The Eastern Oregon outscored Simpson University, 46-18 in the paint, en route to an 88-52 victory for EOU. The Mountaineers were led by Madeline Laan who scored 24 points, on 8-of-12 shooting. Kassy Larson followed with 22 points and Maloree Moss rounded out the double figure scorers with 15 points for EOU. 
 
Last Time Against LCSC
Sunday's meeting between Eastern Oregon and Lewis-Clark State will be the first meeting since, 2012. The last time these two teams faced off was Dec. 8, 2012 in Walla Walla, Wash. The Mountaineers were victories by a score of 62-36.
 
Looking at the Opponents
Simpson

The Red Hawks of Simpson University enter the LC Classic with a record of 1-11 on the season. They are averaging 56.7 points per game and shooting 35 percent from the floor. Leading the way for Simpson is Esther Wofford, who is averaging 14.9 points per game. Wofford also leads the team in assists 2.1 per game and steals 2.3 per game. The Red Hawks lost to Lewis-Clark State, 81-51, in their last game on Nov. 26.
Lewis-Clark State
The Warriors enter this weekend with a record of 11-1. In their last contest, Lewis-Clark State defeated Whitman College, 72-65, in overtime, on Dec. 6th. LCSC is led by Tanis Fuller who is averaging 17.0 points per game and in rebounding by collecting 6.2 rebounds per game. On the season, the Warriors are averaging 79.9 points per game and are shooting 45 percent from the floor.
 
Assists
The Mountaineers top the NAIA in assists per game. EOU is averaging 20.3 assists per game. Marian (Ind.) comes in at second as they are dishing out 19.8 assists per game. Maloree Moss is leading the Mountaineers in assists as she is dishing out 3.8 assists per game.
 
Outrebounding Opponents
EOU tops the nation in total rebound margin, as they are outrebounding teams by 17.3 rebounds per game. EOU is a full rebound in front of second place St. Thomas (Fla.) who is averaging 16.2 rebounding margin.
 
Last Weekend
Last weekend the Mountaineers opened up the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) season with victories over Evergreen and Northwest.  On Friday EOU defeated Evergreen, 75-50, in their first game of the Cascade Collegiate Conference season. Madeline Laan led EOU with 18 points and Airashay Rogers and Kassy Larson who scored 11 points apiece. As a team, the Mountaineers shot 45 percent from the field. Saturday, EOU forced 24 turnovers and shot 62 percent from the floor in a, 94-49, victory over Northwest University on Saturday evening at Quinn Coliseum. Airashay Rogers and Kassy Larson led the Mountaineers with 15 points apiece. Jordan Klebaum and Nikki Osborne followed with 12 points each. Klebaum also recorded seven steals in the contest. 
 
What's Up Next
The Mountaineers return to action on Friday Dec. 19 when they travel to Ashland, Ore. to face Southern Oregon University at 5:30 p.m. The next night, EOU squares off against Oregon Tech at 5:30 p.m.
