Click here Last WeekLast week the Mountaineers defeated Walla Walla and were defeated by NCAA Division I Gonzaga University in an exhibition contest. EOU had seven players score in double figures in their, 119-43, victory over Walla Walla University. EOU shot 67.5 percent from the floor for the game.
Kassy Larson led the Mountaineers with 26 points on 13-of-16 shooting, while
Nikki Osborne followed with 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting.
Madeline Laan scored 16 points, followed by
Larissa Quintana, who added 13. Rounding out the double figure scores was Jordan Klaubeum, with 12, and
Maloree Moss and
Kelsey Hill with 10 each. Larson led the team with 13 rebounds. The Eastern Oregon University Women's Basketball team was overpowered by the NCAA Division I Gonzaga University Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon's exhibition contest. EOU was defeated 92-44.
Looking at Walla WallaWalla Walla enters the game against the Mountaineers with a 0-4 record. The Wolves lost to Evergreen on Nov. 1, 86-44. Michaela Garcia leads the team averaging 17.5 points per game. As a team, the Wolves are averaging 34.3 points per game.
Top in the CCCThe Mountaineers have the top scoring offense and are averaging the most steals in the CCC. This season the Mountaineers are averaging 91.7 points per game and are collecting 16.0 steals per game.
No. 25Eastern Oregon University enters the 2014-15 season as No. 25 in the NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Tuesday. EOU received 71 points.
All-CCC Preseason PollJunior forward,
Nikki Osborne, and freshman guard,
Maya Ah You, were named to the preseason team. Osborne, appeared in 31 games last season for EOU and led the team in rebounding as she collected 5.7 rebounds per game. She averaged 6.1 points per game. Ah You redshirted last season. Ah You comes to EOU from Middleton High School.
Coaches' Preseason PollAccording to a poll released by the conference office, Eastern Oregon was picked to finish second in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Mountaineers earned two first-place votes and 87 points. Last season, Eastern Oregon finished 14-4 in the CCC and advanced to the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship for the third-straight season.
