Scouting the Opponents
Northwest Christian
The Beacons of Northwest Christian enters this weekend with a 5-10 overall record and 2-5 in the CCC. Northwest Christian is currently on a two game winning streak after defeating Concordia, 74-71, and Warner Pacific, 77-68, last weekend. On the season the Beacons are averaging 65.8 points per game, while allowing 74.3 points per game. Hannah Frederick and Andrea Gloss are the only Beacons averaging double-figures. Frederick is averaging 11.8 while Gloss is scoring 10.9 points per game.
Corban
Corban University Warriors enter this weekend with an 11-8 overall record and 6-1 in conference action. The Warriors have won its last three contests over, Southern Oregon, Warner Pacific, and Concordia. The Warriors are averaging 62.2 points per game while shooting 38.5 percent from the floor. The Warriors are allowing opponents to score 63.4 points per game and shoot 36.6 percent from the floor. Tara Vanweerdhuizen leads the team averaging 13.1 points per game and collecting 10.2 rebounds per game.
Halfway Home
After the games this weekend, the first half of the Cascade Collegiate Conference play wraps up as only nine more conference games are left. The CCC tournament starts on Feb. 25th with the quarterfinals. The semifinals will take place on Feb. 28 and the championship game being held on March 3. All games are played at campus locations.
Last Weekend
In its only game of last week, EOU defeated College of Idaho, 85-83.
Nikki Osborne hit a layup with 2.5 seconds remaining in the game to give EOU the win.
Brittney Newcomb scored a game high 33 points for EOU.
Kassy Larson followed with 20 for EOU as she collected 16 rebounds, 12 on the offensive end. Dayna Drager scored 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting to lead College of Idaho.
No. 14
The Mountaineers fell one spot to No. 14 in the fourth edition of the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 poll the NAIA National Office, announced on Tuesday. EOU is 2 points away in the rankings from the No. 13 ranking.
Top Five in the Nation
Senior,
Brittney Newcomb continues to rank in the top five in the nation in points per game, three pointers made per game, free throw percentage and total three pointers made. On the season, Newcomb has made 4.1 three pointers per game and 89.4 percent of her free throws, which are second best in the nation. She ranks third in points per game (24.4) and total made three pointers (65) on the season.
Winning at Quinn
The Mountaineers have won 30 straight contests at Quinn Coliseum. EOU is 5-0 at home this season. The last loss for Eastern Oregon at Quinn Coliseum was The last home loss for the Mountaineers came on Jan. 7, 2012 when then-No. 22 Corban defeated EOU, 73-59.
Conference Winning Streak
The Mountaineers are on a 27 game conference winning streak dating back to the 2011-12 season. The last conference loss for Eastern Oregon came on Feb. 10, 2012 when College of Idaho defeated EOU, 44-40. The 27 game winning streak in conference play is the longest winning streak in conference history.

Entering this weekend of conference action, Eastern Oregon sits atop of the Cascade Collegiate Conference women's basketball standings. Coming in at no. 2 in the conference standings is Corban. The Mountaineers and Warriors square off on Saturday in the first of two matchups this season.
