CCC Top 25 Teams
This weekend in Quinn Coliseum, EOU will face two teams who are ranked in the top 25. Southern Oregon comes into this matchup as the No. 17 team in the nation on Friday and Oregon Tech will enter Quinn ranked No. 14 on Saturday. EOU currently sits at No. 24 in the second edition of the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 poll. Those are the only three teams ranked in the CCC.
Scouting the Opponents
Southern Oregon
The Raiders of Southern Oregon come into the contest against the Mountaineers with a 12-1 record and 2-0 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. The Raiders are currently on an eight game-winning streak, which was started after defeating Cal State San Marcos, 77-60, on Nov. 16. Southern Oregon averages 88.5 points per game, which is sixth best in the NAIA. Carly Meister leads the Raiders as she averages 14.5 points per game, while shooting 53 percent from the field. Southern Oregon is only allowing its opponents to shoot 37.1 percent from the floor and holding them to 69.7 points per game.
Oregon Tech
The Owls of Oregon Tech enters the weekend 14-0 and 2-0 in CCC action. Oregon Tech is one of four unbeatens left in the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball. The Owls are only allowing teams to shoot 30.2 percent from the floor and are only allowing 52.2 points per game, both lead the NAIA. Oregon Tech is averaging 81.5 points per game while shooting 46.3 percent from the floor. The Owls have three players scoring in double figures on the season led by Karly Leveque's 12.9 points per game.
Conference Winning Streak
The Mountaineers are on a 22 game conference winning streak dating back to the 2011-12 season. The last conference loss for Eastern Oregon came on Feb. 10, 2012 when College of Idaho defeated EOU, 44-40. The 22 game winning streak in conference play is the longest winning streak in conference history.
Recapping the Kim Evanger Raney Classic
Last weekend, the Mountaineers traveled to Walla Walla, Wash. and participated in the Kim Evanger Raney Classic hosted by Whitman College. Eastern Oregon split its two games, as they defeated Whitworth University on Friday, 77-71, before falling to Whitman, 78-65, the next day. Leading EOU was

All-Tournament Team
Brittney Newcomb was named to the Kim Evanger Raney Classic All-Tournament team for her performances against Whitworth and Whitman. Newcomb averaged 25.0 points per game, while shooting 39.5 percent from the floor and hitting seven three pointers in the two games.
Top Five in the Nation
Senior,
Brittney Newcomb ranks in the top five in three different offensive categories. Newcomb ranks third in the nation in scoring average as she is averaging 23.0 points per game. She ranks fourth in three pointers made per game (3.7) and free throw percentage (89.7).
