Scouting the Warriors
Lewis-Clark State College comes into the game with the Mountaineers, winning its first eight games of the season. The 8-0 record is the best start for a NAIA Division I Men's Basketball team. The Warriors are scoring 99.0 points per game and are only allowing 64.3 points per game. This season only two teams, Northwest Indiana College and Multnomah, have scored over 70 points against the Warriors. Lewis-Clark State is shooting 52.5 percent from the floor in its first eight games.
Last Meeting Between LCSC and EOU
The last meeting between Lewis-Clark State and Eastern Oregon came on Dec. 10, 2011 in La Grande, Ore. The Mountaineers came away with an 85-64 victory over the Warriors. The Only returning Mountaineer who played in the game was
Kyllian Wood, who scored five points in 20 minutes of action.
Kalvin Johanson and
Derek Maloney were on the team but were redshirting that season.
Last Three Meetings
Eastern Oregon University has won the last three meetings against Lewis-Clark State. Prior to the Dec. 10, 2011 meeting, EOU and LCSC met on Nov. 28, 2009 with EOU coming away with a 73-47 win at Lewiston. The Mountaineers also came away with a ten point victory, 85-75, on Nov. 8, 2008 in La Grande.

Eastern Oregon leads the NAIA Division II in block shots this season. EOU has recorded 48 block shots as a team this season. Leading the block party is sophomore
Kalvin Johanson who has tallied 19 block shots this season. Johanson is also forth in the nation in blocks per game (2.7).
Top In the Nation
Along with being the top team in the nation for block shots, EOU leads the nation in rebounding margin. Eastern Oregon is outrebounding its opponents by 15.5 rebounds per game. Leading the Mountaineers in rebounding is
Kyllian Wood who has collected 87 rebounds in EOU's eight games. Wood's total of 87 rebounds is second best in the NAIA.
Defensive Field Goal Percentage
The Mountaineers are holding teams to shoot 35.8 percent from the floor. EOU ranks third in defensive field goal percentage. EOU has not allowed an opponent to shoot over 50 percent from the floor this season. Westminster College (Utah) recorded the best field goal percentage on the Mountaineers as the Griffins shot 42.3 percent from the floor.
Golden Rule Shootout
Eastern Oregon went 1-1 in the Golden Rule Shootout last weekend hosted by College of Idaho. The Mountaineers were victorious in its first game of the shootout as the Mountaineers used a 29-7 run to come back and defeated Walla Walla University, 76-67. EOU suffered its first loss of the season to Westminster, 73-66, the next day. Eastern Oregon found itself down, 37-22, at halftime. The Mountaineers used a strong second half, which saw them make seven three pointers, to battle back but could not come all the way back.
