Box Score KIRKLAND, Wash. - The Eastern Oregon University Mountaineers fell to Northwest University Eagles, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles, Acacia Johnson, scored the game-winning-goal with 2:20 left in the match to claim the victory.
Danielle Robinson scored the lone goal for the Mountaineers, who fell to 7-3-1 on the season.
Kailey Moss recorded three saves on the afternoon.
Northwest broke the scoreless tie less than half an hour into the match. Acacia Johnson found Rachel Saleen, who was 12 yards out, who beat Moss into the lower right hand corner putting the Eagles on top, 1-0.
The Mountaineers went down 1-0 into halftime.
Eastern Oregon tied the game early in the second half. The Mountaineers had a corner kick that
Sydney Nelson took. Robinson headed the ball in from four feet out to tie the match at 1-1.
Northwest broke the scoreless tie with 2:20 left in the match. Rachel Saleen found Johnson who put Moss in the upper left corner from 18 yards out to give the Eagles a, 2-1 lead.
EOU did not get another scoring chance in the game and fell to the Eagles, 2-1.
Eastern Oregon returns to action on Thursday, Oct. 24 when they host Northwest Christian at 3 p.m.
