Sorensen Wins Dual Honors

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University Volleyball player Stefani Sorensen (Camas, Wash) was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the week as well as Hitter of the week on Monday.
 
Sorensen led the Mountaineers (12-4, 6-2) to two victories over the weekend: Concordia Friday night (25-20, 25-15, 19-25, 25-15) and Warner Pacific the following night (25-16, 25-22, 25-23).
 
The sophomore finished the weekend off with a total of 34 kills and a hitting percentage of .441. With her stellar performance, Sorensen is now second in the conference in hitting percentage (.301) behind teammate Alisha Crane (Glenns Ferry, Idaho).  Sorenson also ranks third in kills at 3.07 per game.
 
The consistent play over the last two games from Sorensen and  teammates have helped the Mountaineers climb to No.1 in the Conference in hitting percentage, kills and digs.
 
Easterns' next match is this Friday, Sept. 28th when they will be on the road against the No. 1 team in the conference, College of Idaho.
