LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The Eastern Oregon University volleyball team begins the 2012 schedule for EOU Athletics Friday, at The College of Idaho Tournament. The first weekly report of the season is now available.

* Series: EOU is 0-1 under Kaki Morehead vs. Vanguard, but have never met LCSC and WJU.

EASTERN OREGON NOTEWORTHY
• Eastern Oregon opens the 2012 schedule just as it did a year ago against Vanguard. The Lions took a five-set match from EOU at the APU Cougar Classic in 2011.
• The Mountaineers also begin the 2012 slate where it ended the 2011 schedule in the J.A. Albertson Center in Caldwell, Idaho, on the College of Idaho campus.
• Eastern has appeared in nine straight NAIA polls, but have yet to leave the receiving votes category.
• EOU received 49 votes in the final week of the regular season in 2011, its highest amount of last season.
• The Mountaineers have met Vanguard (Calif.) only once under Kaki Morehead, the 3-2 setback last season in Azusa, Calif.
• Eastern has never met Lewis-Clark State or William Jessup (Calif.) under Morehead. Season-by-season volleyball results at EOU date back to 1998.
• Eastern has lost all six of its matches on a neutral floor last season.
• EOU was also 0-5 when playing in five set matches in 2011.
• The Mountaineers were 0-7 when losing the first set, but 17-4 when winning set one last season.
• In 2011, Eastern went 14-0 when holding opponents under .100 attack percentage.
• The Mountaineers were 17-1 when leading in attack percentage, but 0-9 trailing.
• Morehead is 23 wins shy of her 100th career victory.
