ABOUT THE YOTES
The College of Idaho comes into the game with a 9-17 overall record and a 4-11 conference mark. The Yotes were picked third in the Cascade Collegiate Conference preseason poll, but have struggled so far this season. C of I had lost seven of its last eight games after its lost at EOU last month, but the Yotes are 3-3 in their six. College of Idaho's defense has been its strong point this season. The Yotes are sixth in NAIA Div. 2 in field goal percentage defense (.403). C of I gives up an average of 65.6 points per outing. Their 207 total steals is 33rd in the nation, behind Matt Ballenger's 2.3 steals per game, which is eighth in the country. The Yotes defense is giving up an average of 63.6 points per game, seventh in the country. Rodney Delgardo is averaging 9.62 points per outing.
ABOUT THE I-84 CUP
The Mountaineers and The College of Idaho meet for the 168th time Friday. It will be the 67th straight year the programs meet. The matchup is the longest running in the Cascade Conference. The I-84 Cup trophy is given to the winner of the basketball series with EOU and The College of Idaho. The Mountaineers currently hold possession of the trophy. C of I must sweep the men's and women's games Friday to take the Cup. A split or sweep by Eastern keeps the Cup in the Mountaineers possession.
