Box Score Lake Wales, Fla. - The Eastern Oregon University women's basketball team took on Warner University Fla. his afternoon beating the Royals 74-59.
Eastern (6-1, 0-0 CCC) came out strong in the first few minutes scoring 16 unanswerd points before Warner (3-2) was able to score off of a free throw with 12:08 left in the half. The Royals would break the double digit mark with 8:20 to play from a three by Trenecia Henderson and would trail Eou, 10-25.
The Mountaineers would go into halftime up 41-26. EOU was led by
Nicole Redd and Brook Randall with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
At the start of the second half Warner would come out and hit a quick three cutting EOU's lead to 12 but that is as close as the Royals would come on the night. Eastern would quickly respond with a layup by
Korrie Bourn and eventually lead by as much as 16.
As a team EOU shot 47% from the field out-rebounded Warner 40-27 and forced to 21 turnovers.
All of the Mountaineers would see playing time tonight as Brook Randall led all scorers with 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assist. Teammates
Nicole Redd and
Nikki Osborne would add 15 and 12 points respectively, while
Chayla Jones contributed with 12 rebounds.
Warner was led by Allison Porter and Brooke Garmon with 12 points apiece.
Eastern will make their way back to the northwest and take on Westminster College on Nov. 23
