Box Score Spokane, Wash. - The Eastern Oregon women's basketball team (4-1) lost to Carroll College (2-0) in the last game of the Cascade -Frontier red lion challenge, 48-62.
Both teams were coming off wins from last nights match ups, as Eastern beat Montana Tech 71-47 and Carroll beat Northwest 70-52.
The Mountaineers started off cold in the first half shooting just 8% from the field. It wasn't until about seven minutes left in the half that the Mountaineers would start to close the gap cutting the lead to 4, behind the scoring efforts of Brook Randall with 8 points in the first half.
EOU would head into the locker room trailing 23-30. Carroll was led by Bailey Snelling in the first half with 11 points.
Eastern would come out in the second half and make a run cutting the lead to as little as 4. Carroll would counteract with a run of their own extending their led to as much as 12 with two minutes left in the half.
Carroll would hold on to the lead and give the Mountaineers their first lost of the season.
EOU was led by Kelsea Hurlimans 16 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Teammates
Brooke Randall had 15 points, while
Korrie Bourn contributed with 4 points and10 rebounds.
Bailey Snelling led Carroll in scoring with 18 points and 3 assists. Torrie Cahill contributed 14 points and 7 rebounds.
The Eastern Women's basketball team will be back in action next weekend as they travel to Florida to take on Webber International Nov, 18 and Warner Nov. 19. Live stats and video will be available at EOUsports.com
