Box Score Portland, Ore. - The Eastern Oregon Volleyball (19-6, 11-4 CCC) team defeated Warner Pacific College (15-9, 9-7 CCC) in five sets (25-27, 27-25, 25-17, 25-27, 15-11) as they continue their seven game win streak.
After tying the first game at 21-21 and then trading points late in the match Eastern lost a close first set, 25-27.
The second set was much like the first, except this time the Mountaineers would come out on top as they rallied to a 27-25 win.
In set three
Rebecca Haight helped EOU make a 7-0 run, which eventually led to a 25-17 win for EOU.
Set four had a total of four ties and several lead changes throughout the match before Warner Pacific finally came away with the win, 27-25.
In the deciding fifth game EOU was able to jump out to a 5-1 lead and not turn back coming away with the 15-11 win.
The game consisted of 28 tie scores and 9 led changes, Eastern lead the entire fifth set.
“Warner was a tough opponent for us tonight. I am glad we pulled together and played tough when we needed too,” head coach Kaki Morehead stated.
Stephani Sorensen led the mountaineers with 15 skills, while
Alisha Crane,
Rebecca Haight and
Casey Loper each finished with 12 and 11 kills respectively.
Karly Stack finished the night will 39 assists and
Kaitlyn Duncan added 23 digs.
Warner Pacific was led by Devan Belshe 19 kills and Rylie Engelson 16.
