Mountaineers Make it Five in a Row

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. -- The Eastern Oregon University volleyball team swept Walla Walla University Tuesday, 3-0.

The Mountaineers (5-6, 4-0 Cascade Collegiate Conference) are one win away from being .500 after winning their fifth straight match. EOU began the season 0-6. Walla Walla falls to 5-11.

Eastern's Jessica Lea finished with a match-high 10 kills, and added 11 assists and 14 digs. Emily Sampson recorded 22 assists. Kaitlyn Duncan and Katie Keeney had 19 and 15 digs respectively.

Heather McFadden led the Wolves with six kills. Natalie Wilkening had a team-high nine assists. Karissa Jacobsen finished with a match-high 23 digs, while McFadden and Wilkening had 14 and 10 digs.

Eastern hosts No. 14 Southern Oregon in a battle for the top spot in the conference standings Friday in La Grande at 7 p.m. SOU, Eastern Oregon and No. 8 College of Idaho are all currently undefeated in CCC play.
