BARNETT GETS NATIONAL ATTENTION
EOU track and field student-athlete, Anne Barnett, was named the NAIA National Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week last Wednesday. The senior posted three first-place finishes and one NAIA-provisional qualifying mark at the EOU Blue and Gold Meet on March 18. She won the javelin, hammer throw and shot put. Her hammer throw (142' 10”) and shot put (37' 5 ¾”) marks place her in the national top-seven list. Her distance of 128' 9” in the javelin also took first place and was the provisional mark.

LAST TIME OUT
The Eastern Oregon University track and field team found success at the Blue and Gold Meet Friday despite strong winds. Kimmy Moore jumped over 17 feet for the first time in her career with a long jump of 5.22 meters. Moore would later win the 100 meters with a time of 16.37 seconds into a head wind. Anne Barnett won a trio of throwing events. The senior took the shot put title with a top toss of 11.42 meters. She won the hammer throw with a mark of 43.54 meters, and the javelin by a wide distance from the rest of the field. Barnett's hammer throw and javelin marks were both in the EOU all-time top 10. Brittany Sims, this week's NAIA National Female Track Athlete of the Week, won both the 400 meters (1:03.46) and the 100 meters (13.52). Sims, Moore, Kadie Booth and Cory O'Neill teamed up to run a quality 4 x 300 as well. Robbie Haynie won the men's long jump with the second best mark in EOU outdoor history at 7.03 meters.
