LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The latest edition of the game notes for Eastern Oregon University women's basketball is available now. The sixth-seeded Mountaineers are at top-seeded Concordia University in the Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament semifinals Friday.
THE SERIES
* The Mountaineers hold a 40-19 advantage over Concordia all-time.
* Eastern Oregon won 16 straight over Concordia from 1991 to 1999.
* From 2003 to 2007, EOU won 10 consecutive meetings.
* Since then the series is even at 3-3.
* Eastern and CU have met twice in the postseason. Concordia won the 1988 District 2 playoff meeting, 86-53 and the Mountaineers won the 2000 CCC First Round game, 69-60.

ABOUT THE LADY CAVALIERS
The No. 22 Cavaliers (22-9) and Eastern are the only teams left in the conference with single digit amount of losses. Concordia is led by All-Conference performer Danielle Clauson. The senior ranks in the top 10 in the country in scoring and field goal percentage. CU is sixth in NAIA Div. 2 in total points this season, and 18th in the nation averaging 75 points an outing. The Cavs shoot 44 percent from the field which is eighth in the country.
ABOUT THE CCC TOURNAMENT
Rachel Scarpelli's four-point play with just under five minutes to play turned a six-point lead into a double-digit advantage as No. 1 seed Concordia University defeated eighth-seeded Northwest Christian, 75-62, in the opening round Tuesday. Corban advanced to its second straight CCC tournament semifinal with an 80-69 win over Southern Oregon. And, Nicole Gall recorded the second triple-double in College of Idaho women's basketball history, defeated Warner Pacific, 75-57.
LAST TIME OUT
The Eastern Oregon University women's basketball team eased past Northwest University in the first round of the Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament Tuesday night, 90-65. Tuesday, Eastern completed the rare feat of beating the same team three times during the season.
Kelsea Hurliman led EOU with 19 points. The sophomore went 5 for 9 from behind the arc and finished 6 of 10 from the field.

Vintea Georges each added 18 points,
Shaylee Nielsen was 4 of 7 from three-point range and ended the game with 17 points.
Samantha Flett chipped in nine points, along seven rebounds and seven assists. The Mountaineers made 29 of their 57 shots from the field, finishing 50 percent from the field. Eastern went 12 of 28 from behind the arc, and 20 of 28 from the free-throw line.
SEMI SWEET
The Mountaineer women have now qualified for the semifinals in the Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament the past two seasons. Last season EOU fell in the finals. Eastern made the semifinals six straight seasons before falling in the first round in 2008 and 2009. The Mountaineers record in the CCC tournament semifinals is 5-2.
LONG DISTANCE SPECIALISTS
The Mountaineers are first in the nation in three-point percentage shooting 39 percent from behind the perimeter. EOU is 16th in NAIA Div. 2 holding opponents to 28 percent shooting from behind the arc. Eastern has won its games by an average of 12.5 points. Eastern Oregon is averaging 9.1 three-pointers per game, which is fifth in NAIA Div. 2.
Kelsea Hurliman is 9th in the country in three-point field goal percentage hitting 43 percent of her shots.
UNSELFISH MOUNTIES
Eastern is 12th in NAIA Div. 2 averaging 16.6 assists per game. The Mountaineers have dished out 465 assists this year. EOU has a turnover margin of +1.42 and is fifth in the country in assist to turnover ratio.

Eastern Oregon's
Kyle Miller was named the Red Lion Cascade Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week Monday. The junior made 13 of her 26 shots from the field and went 5 for 7 from behind the perimeter in a pair of Mountaineer victories at No. 23 Northwest University and The Evergreen State College over the weekend. She finished the weekend with 38 points and 12 rebounds. The Cheyney, Wash. native led EOU in scoring each game. Miller becomes only the second player in EOU history to be named a Red Lion Player of the Week.
DEADLY DEFENSE
Eastern has stymied its opponents in 2010-11. Only three opponents have shot over 50 percent from the field in a game versus the Mountaineers. The Mountaineers are giving up an average of 61 points per game, the 34th best in the nation. Eastern is second in in the CCC three-point defense field goal percentage (.289), and in points allowed per game (61.2), and fourth in field goal percentage defense (.390).
CRAZY CONFERENCE
The Cascade Collegiate Conference has had six teams appear in the NAIA Div. 2 Top 25 rating at sometime this season. That's more than any other conference in the nation. After beginning the season as the preseason favorite, The College of Idaho, was ranked No. 19 in the preseason poll. Concordia took their place in the first rating and was joined by Eastern Oregon in the second ranking, as EOU was No. 24. No team has climbed higher than Concordia's No. 15 rating. Concordia is currently No. 22 in the poll. Corban is receiving 11 votes and Northwest is receiving one vote.
