OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Eastern Oregon University women's basketball team won its third straight game with a 71-65 victory over The Evergreen State College Saturday.
The Mountaineers (18-9) (10-8) finish the regular season in the sixth spot in the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings and will head to Northwest University Tuesday for a quarterfinal matchup.
Eastern broke the school record for three-pointers made in a single season. The Mountaineers needed to hit four three-pointers to pass the 2003-04 team's mark of 238 shots made from behind the arc. Saturday, EOU hit 10 of its 22 three-point attempts.
Kyle Miller hit the fourth three-pointer at the 11:38 mark of the first half. This season the Eastern men and women each broke the single season made three-pointers school records.
Miller led EOU with 17 points on 6 of 13 shooting from the field.
Kelsea Hurliman finished with a double-double of 10 points and a career-high 11 rebounds.

Shaylee Nielsen three-pointer with 14:31 remaining in the first half. Eastern Oregon continued its run and took a 10-point lead into halftime, 32-22. EOU outscored Evergreen 16-2 in bench points in the first half.
Eastern stretched its lead to 15 points three minutes into the second half after a
Rosebud Guthrie jumper gave the Mountaineers a 41-26 advantage. EOU had its largest lead of the game at the 14:39 mark of the second half when Hurliman connected on a three-pointer to make the score, 48-30.
The Geoducks (5-20) (3-15) began to slowly cut into the lead over the next 12 minutes until they only trailed 64-60 with 1:57 remaining in regulation when Shekia Hill made a lay-up. TESC would come no closer.
LaTrina Woods led Evergreen State with 17 points. The junior was 7 of 18 from the field, and added eight assists and seven rebounds. Vanessa Caskey chipped in 15 points, and hit 3 of 6 from behind the arc. Danielle Swain had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Shavon Tate went 3 for 4 from three-point range and scored 11 points.
The Mountaineers shot 48 percent from the field, 45 percent from behind the perimeter, and just 45 percent from the free-throw line. Evergreen was 46 percent from the field, 7 of 12 from three-point range, and 4 of 10 from the free-throw line. The loss ended the Geoducks' season.
Eastern Oregon outrebounded TESC, 35-34. Evergreen State threw 18 assists to the Mountaineers' 16, and committed fewer turnovers than EOU, 11 to 13. The Geoducks had a 15-3 points off of turnovers advantage, but Eastern led second chance points, 15-8. The Mountaineers owned a 24-4 points off of bench advantage.
EOU will play in its 10th straight postseason beginning Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Northwest University. The Mountaineers swept the third-seeded Eagles (18-9) (12-6) during the regular season, including Friday's thrilling 91-85 double-overtime win. NU limps into the Cascade Collegiate Conference playoffs on a four-game losing streak. EOU rides into the postseason on three-game win streak, and have won six of its last seven and eight of its last 10.
