The Warriors average nearly 80 points and game.

The Beacons (8-19, 2-13 CCC) have lost 13 of their last 14 CCC games. NCU has struggled offensively this season, averaging just 68 points a night, connecting on 44-percent of their field goals and just 31-percent of shots from long range. Corey Anderson's cagers are led by Kellen Spicer (15.5 ppg, 6. 9 rpg) on the block and guard Quentin Guidry (14.4 ppg, .32 rpg). The last two games between NCU and EOU have been decided by a combined five points, both were Eastern wins.
LAST TIME OUT
The No. 15 Eastern Oregon University men's basketball team held off The College of Idaho last Friday, 83-80, to reclaim the I-84 Cup trophy. The Mountaineers broke the school record for three-pointers in a single season. The 2003-04 EOU team made 240 shots from behind the arc in 26 games. This season's team has hit 250 three-pointers in 24 games. Eastern leads the nation in total three-pointers made and three-pointers made per game (10.42). Eastern Oregon watched a Kelly McCarty three-pointer miss off of the back of the rim as time expired to hold on for the victory. It was the second straight conference game that came down to the final possession for EOU. The Mountaineers led 35-19 at halftime, before C of I scored 61 second half points in a comeback effort.
RECORD WATCH
The Mountaineers are doing their share of setting new records this season. EOU has already broke the school mark for three-pointers in a single season nad single game records of threes made, points, and rebounds. Eastern is 463 points shy of breaking the record for points in a season.
Thomas McCarthy needs to make 10 three-pointers to break Ryan Orton's 15-year-old school record of 88 three-pointers in a single season. The senior has hit 79 of his 185 three-pointers this season. The Prineville, Ore. native has connected on 174 of his 440 career three-pointers. Mark Carollo holds the school career record when he made 210 of his 606 shots.
DIALING LONG DISTANCE
Eastern is hitting its share of shots from behind the perimeter this season. The Mountaineers are first in NAIA Div. 2 in three-pointers made per game (10.4), and in total three-pointers made (250). EOU is fourth in the country in three-point percentage (38%).
Jamar Johnson is second in the country with his 47 percent shotting from three-point range.
Thomas McCarthy is sixth in NAIA Div. 2 with 79 three-pointers, making 3.2 per game which is seventh in the nation.
MOUNTAINEERS TO HONOR TRIO
The Mountaineers will honor three seniors this weekend.
JC Cook,
Josh Cottle, and
Thomas McCarthy will all be playing their final regular season games in Quinn Coliseum. McCarthy will be playing in his 100th game on Saturday for Eastern. During his five year span at EOU, the Mountaineers have gone 116-36.
ONE MORE FOR TWENTY
Eastern needs one win for its fifth straight 20-win season. Before the five-year streak, the Mountaineers had four 20-win seasons in the 81-year history of men's basketball, with the last coming in 1965-66. This season's squad became the 20th team to reach 16 wins in school history. The 2007-08 team had the school's best record at 26-6. That team was 17-3 after 20 games, and started 25-4.
TOP 25 STREAK CONTINUES
The Eastern Oregon University men's basketball team moved to No. 14 in the NAIA Div. 2 Top 25 Monday. The Mountaineers swept their games last week with wins over Walla Walla University Wednesday and The College of Idaho Friday. EOU set a pair of three-pointer school records in the victories, threes made in a single game against WWU (18) and threes made in a season against The College of Idaho (250). Eastern appears in the Top 25 for a school-record 19th straight time. The Mountaineers have been in the Top 25 in 25 of the last 26 polls. EOU has been in the Top 25 in every poll dating back to last season's preseason poll on Oct. 26 when it received votes. The Mountaineers had their best preseason ranking in the 2008-09 season when they started at No. 6. EOU climbed to No. 3 in the national poll that season, the highest in school history.

Two programs in those five, Oregon Tech and EOU, are from the Cascade Collegiate Conference. There are only a dozen teams that have made the national tournament in each of the past three years, including Eastern.
