LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The No. 23 Eastern Oregon University men's basketball team hosts key Cascade Collegiate Conference matchups this weekend against Southern Oregon University and No. 3 Oregon Tech.

THE SERIES
* Southern Oregon holds a 95-75 lead in the all-time series over EOU.
* Friday's game is the 171st meeting will be the second-most against any other program for Eastern. EOU and Western Oregon have met 187 times.
* Eastern Oregon has won six straight over Southern Oregon.
* The last Raider victory came on Dec. 5, 2008, 72-87, in Ashland.
* EOU and OIT meet for the 161st time, Tech has won 96 of the previous meetings.

ABOUT THE RAIDERS
Southern Oregon enters the weekend with a 9-4 record and five spots out of the NAIA Div. 2 Top 25. SOU has won four consecutive games. The Raiders have won four of their five road games. The Raiders owe much of their early-season success to Eric Thompson. The freshman is fourth in the country in total scoring with 265 points. He averages 20.3 points per game which leads the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Thompson also leads the team with an average of 7.46 rebounds per outing. Jeff Bush is throwing 3.18 assists per contest. Southern is sixth in the nation with a .765 free-throw percentage. SOU's 49 percent shooting from the field is 10th in NAIA Div. 2, and its 40 percent from behind the arc is 11th. The Raiders opened CCC play with a home sweep over Northwest Christian and Corban.

ABOUT THE HUSTLIN' OWLS
No. 3 Oregon Tech makes the long road trips to The College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon after moving to its highest ranked position in recent years. OIT has won nine straight games entering the weekend. The Hustlin' Owls have won 12 of their first 13 games. Tech has taken care of the ball so far this season ranking first in NAIA Div. 2 in assists per game (19.1) and assist to turnover ratio.  The Owls are second in turnover margin (7.7). OIT is outscoring opponents by 23 points which is fourth in the nation and is sixth in scoring offense per game (86.8), three-point shooting percentage (.419), and field goal percentage (.505). Bobby Hunter leads Oregon Tech in scoring per game (17.3). The freshman is second in the country in total steals (39). David Clarke leads the Owls in assists per game (4.54).
