PORTLAND, Ore. – The No. 21 Eastern Oregon University men's basketball team opens Cascade Collegiate Conference play Friday and Saturday at Concordia and No. 17 Warner Pacific. The weekly notes are now available.

THE SERIES
* The Mountaineers hold a 28-23 lead in the all-time series over Concordia.
* EOU has won sseven straight games over CU since the Cavs won in Portland on Jan. 19, 2008, 67-63.
* Eastern has won four of the last 10 games at Concordia.
* The nation's sixth and seventh best scoring offenses per game meet Friday, EOU's 87.87 and Concordia's 87.83.
* Eastern is 2-8 in its last 10 games at WPC. The last EOU win at Warner Pacific was 77-69 on Jan. 23, 2009.
* The Mountaineers own the all-time series over Warner Pacific, 26-21.
* Before the last meeting's 87-67 WPC win, the previous seven were decided by single digits.

• It took Eastern Oregon 15 games to reach 20 blocks last season. This year's team had 20 blocks after five games and is third in the conference in blocks.
Ervin Felder is 10th in the nation in offensive rebounds per game.

ABOUT THE CAVALIERS
Concordia enters conference play with a 4-3 record. The Cavs began the season with a vote in the national poll and were picked fourth in the Cascade Collegiate Conference preseason poll. CU is powered by many experienced players including seven seniors and three juniors. The Cavaliers returned every starter from last year's team, with four of the starters now being  seniors. The sophomore starter, Adam Herman, is one of the best shooters in the country. The forward is averaging 21 points per game and shooting 75 percent from the field, which is first in the country. Gage Aker is 13th in NAIA Div. 2 averaging 5.6 assists per game to begin the season. The senior recorded the first triple double in the past three years in the conference last season against Eastern Oregon.

ABOUT THE KNIGHTS
Warner Pacific returned to the nation's Top 25 following its phenomenal start to the season. The Knights (5-2) are 17th in NAIA Div. 2 after beating nationally-ranked Montana State-Northern and NCAA Div. 2's Central Washington. WPC was tabbed seventh in the Cascade Collegiate Conference preseason poll, but sit third in the CCC ratings heading into the first weekend of conference play. The defensive-minded Knights are sixth in the country averaging 11.7 steals per game. But, Warner Pacific is also 12th in the nation in scoring offense per game, averaging 85 points per outing. Biniam Tadele leads WPC is points averaging 12.5 per game. Stephen Harris is adding eight rebounds per game, while newcomer William Sharp averages 5.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game.
