SPOKANE, Wash. -- The No. 23 Eastern Oregon University women's basketball team begins a busy week of games at Whitworth College Tuesday. The weekly notes are now available.

Games 3-5: No. 23 Eastern Oregon at Whitworth, San Diego Christian and La Sierra

Series: Eastern is 6-15 against Whitworth, 1-0 versus SDCC and meets La Sierra for first time.

THE SERIES
* The Mountaineers have won six the 21 meetings all-time versus Whitworth.
* Eastern has won the last two meetings against the Pirates.
* EOU and Whitworth last met on Dec. 14, 2007, in Spokane.
* Eastern Oregon won that meeting, 69-64. Current assistant, Tiffanie Ulmer, had 18 points.
* The longest win streak for EOU in the series is two. From 1986 to 2000, Whitworth won eight straight.
* The Mountaineers and San Diego Christian meet for the second time.
* EOU won the first meeting on Nov. 14, 2009, 59-41.
* Colby Patton and Kyle Miller are the only current Mountaineers that played in the game.
* La Sierra and Eastern Oregon meet for the first time ever.

• EOU is 63-19 over the past five seasons in Quinn Coliseum.
• Eastern was No. 2 in NAIA Div. 2 in 3-point percentage shooting 39 percent last season.
• The Mountaineers broke the school record for three-pointers made in a season last year. EOU hit 266 three-pointers in 2010-11.
• Seven of EOU's 10 losses last season came by a combined 29 points.

Kelsea Hurliman enters this season fifth on the EOU all-time three-pointers made in a career list with 103.
• The Eastern women have won at least 20 games in seven of the past 10 seasons.
• The Mountaineers have won or shared the Cascade Collegiate Conference title six times in the past 10 years.

ABOUT THE PIRATES
NCAA Div. 3's Whitworth College will be the toughest opponent the Mountaineers have faced so far in this young season. The Pirates play EOU in their season opener Tuesday. Emily Guthrie returns for her junior season. She led Whitworth in 2010-11 averaging 11.9 points per game. The 5-7 guard added 4.7 rebounds per contest and made 72 three-pointers last season. Lexi Belcher is the lone senior on this young team that features 10 freshmen and sophomores. Belcher is one of three players at 5-10, the tallest on the team. She averaged 9.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per outing in 2010-11.

ABOUT THE HAWKS
San Diego Christian has won two of it's first three games to begin the season. The lone loss coming to La Sierra, 91-88. The Hawks are currently third in NAIA Div. 1 with 22.3 assists per game. SDCC is sixth in the country in scoring per game averaging 92.3 points. Brittany Daniel leads the Hawks. The 5-11 junior guard averages 24 points, 8.67 rebounds, 6 assists and 3.33 steals per game so far this season. Brittany Robinson adds 17 points and 7 rebounds per contest. Heather Servin and Jasmin Thomas also average double-digits at 13.3 and 13 points per game.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Coming off of a La Sierra University record 12 win season in his first year at the helm of the Women's basketball program, Coach Eric Thorson has put together a very difficult and challenging 2011-12 schedule. The Eagles begin this season 1-6 and have been outscored by an average of 78-52. LSU has yet to play a game at home. Joirdan Jones leads La Sierra in scoring so far averaging 13.6 points per game. Natalia Hawthorne is adding an average of 12.4 points per contest. Jones is adding a team-high average of 7 rebounds per outing. Teanna Williams is dishing out 2.14 assists per game.
