CALDWELL, Idaho – The Eastern Oregon University volleyball team had its upset attempt fall short at No. 17 The College of Idaho, 3-2.
Sarah Harris had a match-high 24 kills, helping The College of Idaho rally from a two sets to one deficit to defeat Eastern Oregon 19-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-22, 15-11 inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
Irene Walters led EOU with 17 kills and 15 digs in the loss, with
Kaitlyn Duncan adding 28 digs.
Jessica Lea finished with 24 assists and
Emily Sampson added 19. Lea also had 16 digs. Sampson and
Leigh Anne MacCarthy had 12 and 11 digs.
The Yotes' Whitney Owen logged 39 digs in the win, the third-highest total in program history, helping extend the Coyotes Cascade Conference home win streak to 49 in a row.
The Mountaineers (8-5) (4-3) travel to The Evergreen State College for their next match on Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. Warner Pacific swept TESC (3-7) (2-4) Friday.
