LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon University track and field team welcomes opponents to its final home meet of the 2010 season Saturday.
The EOU Open returns for this year's edition of the premier collegiate track meet in Eastern Oregon. The Mountaineers will compete against athletes from Northwest Nazarene University, Treasure Valley Community College, Boise State University, and some unattached participants.
Eastern Oregon has found success already this season with 10 automatic qualifiers for the NAIA National Championships entering Saturday's meet. The Mountaineers have some athletes ranked among the nation's best, including Alma Garcilazo, Karlee Coffey, and Chris Dilley who are all second in the NAIA in their respective events.
The meet begins with Eastern senior recognitions at 9:45 a.m, followed by the day's first field events at 10 a.m. Events on the track start at noon with the women's 4x100-meter relay. The forecast for the meet is sunny with temperatures in the mid-60's.
