KIRKLAND, Wash. -- The Eastern Oregon University women's basketball fell in double overtime at Northwest University Saturday, 91-85.
Jessica Wilkerson scored a game-high 37 points to lead the Eagles (4-4) (1-1). The senior made 8 of her 13 three-point attempts, and was 13 for 26 from the field. Three other Northwest players finished in double figures, Erika Hornyak had 14 points, Mairelle McKean had 11, and McKenzie McKean scored 10.
Ashlee Michelson recorded a double double for Eastern with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
Shaylee Nielsen and
Kelsea Hurliman each came off the bench to score 17 and 15 points for the Mountaineers. The two new EOU players each made 3 three-pointers in the game.
Kyle Miller and
Samantha Flett each finished with 10 points.
With 15:10 remaining in regulation the Eagles had their largest lead, 45-35, before EOU crept back into the game and tied the score at 62 at the 5:35 mark. Eastern had its largest lead early in the game at 11-7. The Mountaineers led by three with 1:47 left in the first overtime, and 85-82 with 3:44 left in the second overtime.
Eastern Oregon travels to Whitman College next Saturday to play the Missionaries at 5:30 p.m. The Mountaineers host Southern Oregon, Dec. 18, for their next home game.
