Sareena Simpson enters her third season as part of the EOU volleyball staff.
Prior to coaching she played four years of collegiate volleyball. Her first season was at Northwest Nazarene University, where she appeared in 30 sets for the Crusaders and recorded 24 digs, seven aces and two assists on the season.
After spending her freshman year at Northwest Nazarene, Simpson transferred to Treasure Valley Community College for sophomore year she appeared in 23 matches and 79 sets for the Chukars. She recorded 38 kills, 15 assists, 46 aces and a team-high 396 digs. Simpson ranked eighth in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges in digs per set as she recorded 4.96 digs per set.
Simpson finished out her playing career at Eastern Oregon University under current Head Coach Kaki McLean Morehead. In her two seasons for the Mountaineers, Simpson played in 166 sets, recorded 16 kills, 29 assists, 77 aces and 655 digs. She was named Cascade Collegiate Conference Libero of the week once.
