Attila joined the Mountaineer men’s basketball staff in 2014 as a graduate assistant, and he currently serves as the assistant coach under Isaac Williams.
From 2014-16, Attila was a graduate assistant under former head coach, Jared Barrett. His primary duties included scouting opponents, coordinating program operations (travel, film), planning community service activities, academic advising, and overseeing the development of the guards and wings. Attila also served as the squad’s strength and conditioning coach.
In addition to assisting EOU on the sidelines, Attila was a former standout on the hardwood for the Mountaineers. During the 2013-14 campaign, he started 27 games and led the squad in both assists (108) and three-point field goal percentage (41.0).
During his prep career at La Grande High School, Attila was named the 2010 Oregon 4A State Player of the Year.
He went on to play two seasons for College of Southern Idaho, where he led the squad in three-point field goal percentage (43.0) in 2012 en route to carding a regional championship and national tournament appearance. He transferred to Hawaii Pacific University in 2012 and played one season before becoming a lethal guard at EOU.
After collecting an associate’s degree from College of Southern Idaho in 2012, Attila received his bachelor’s degree from EOU in 2014. He is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration from EOU and is expected to have it completed by 2017.
During the summer, Attila runs and operates his own basketball camps, ‘Higher Ceiling Hoops.’
Attila was born in La Grande to John and Janine, and he has one brother, Jeff. His hobbies include cooking, working out, outdoor activities, getting froyo, watching The Bachelor, watching The Bachelorette, playing poker, meeting new people, making people laugh, eating Chipotle, traveling, and listening to music.
