KANSAS CITY, Mo. – In the final
NAIA Coaches Top 25 Poll, Eastern Oregon Softball slid one spot to tie at No.6 with 405 points and one first place vote.
The Mountaineers wrapped up an impressive regular season at 37–9 overall and 18–6 in Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) play. Since the previous poll, Eastern posted a 5–3 record, highlighted by a 3–1 series win over Corban University—including two run-rule victories—and a competitive split against then-No. 1 Oregon Tech. Eastern claimed the CCC series 2–1 in that matchup.
As a team, EOU ranks among the nation's best in several categories: third in walks (185), 10th in on-base percentage (.427), tied for 16th in home runs (36), and 11th in total runs scored (341). In the circle, the Mountaineers' pitching staff has been equally strong, limiting opponents to the 15th-fewest hits allowed (251).
Individually, several players continue to shine within a competitive conference.
Hope Burke leads the CCC with 12 home runs, while
Raygun Klippert tops the conference with 43 stolen bases.
Lexi Grumbois ranks second in both batting average (.430) and RBIs (48). In the circle,
Camille Schmitz holds the fourth-best ERA (1.92),
Maliyah Mann ranks fourth in wins (15) and fifth in strikeouts (102), and
Hannah Ebner leads the conference with four saves.
The Cascade Collegiate Conference was also represented by No.2 Oregon Tech, T-No.6 Southern Oregon, while College of Idaho and the University of British Columbia continued to receive votes.
Eastern now turns its focus to postseason play, set to begin this Friday with the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament, followed by the NAIA National Tournament.
