Eastern Oregon University volleyball is set to enter the 2025 season with high expectations on both the conference and national stages, earning the No. 2 spot in the
Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Preseason Coaches' Poll and the No. 5 ranking in the
NAIA Women's Volleyball Preseason Top 25.
The Mountaineers are coming off a strong 31-5 campaign in 2024 that saw them reach the NAIA Quarterfinals and finish No. 6 in the final national rankings. All five of last season's losses came against fellow CCC programs, proving the league's growing national presence as six teams reached the NAIA tournament last year.
In the conference poll, EOU earned 101 points and three first-place votes to land just behind preseason favorite Corban University (108 points, five first-place votes). Southern Oregon was close behind at No. 3 with 98 points and two first-place votes. The three programs shared last year's CCC regular season title in a historic three-way tie, all finishing with a 19-3 conference record.
Nationally, the Mounties collected 459 points to secure the No. 5 spot in the NAIA poll, trailing behind the defending national champion Indiana Wesleyan, Bellevue (Neb.), Corban, and Concordia (Neb.). EOU is the second-highest ranked CCC team in the national standings, further solidifying the conference's reputation as one of the toughest in the country.
Eastern Oregon returns several key contributors from last year's squad and has added a talented group of newcomers as they prepare to open the season at the Montana Tech Tournament on August 21-23. The Mounties will face Montana State-Northern, William Carey (Miss.), Providence (Mont.), and Taylor (Ind.) in the non-conference showcase.
CCC play will begin on September 3, with the conference tournament set to start November 11 at campus sites.
