SPOKANE, Wash. – Eastern Oregon University's women's lacrosse team fell 26-4 to Whitworth at the Pine Bowl on Saturday.
Whitworth (1-2) controlled the game from the start, racing to an 11-1 lead in the first quarter and never looking back. The Pirates outshot the Mountaineers 45-5 and controlled 23 draw controls to Eastern Oregon's nine.
Jade McCoy and Claire Bever each netted two goals for Eastern Oregon (0-4), while McCoy also tallied an assist. Goalkeeper Addi Bomberger recorded seven saves despite facing relentless pressure.
Whitworth had a balanced offensive attack, with Kenzie Hemman leading the way with five goals and one assist. Campbell Vincent added four goals and five assists, while Sierra Witte and Peyton Green each contributed four goals.
Eastern Oregon will look to bounce back in its next matchup as the Mountaineers continue their road trip with tomorrow's game against Whitman College at 2:00 p.m. in Spokane, Wash.
