LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon Men's and Women's Track & Field opened the Lew Thorne Invite on Friday, competing in the triple jump, weight throw, and distance medley relay events.
Mark Church hit another NAIA "B" standard in the weight throw with a mark of 18.55 meters, the sixth-best in the NAIA this season. He also improved his personal best from 18.42m, which ranks second in EOU program history.
The Mounties had a strong showing in the distance medley relay, with multiple teams earning NAIA "B" standards after conversion for the EOU Field house's regulation distance. The men's teams of Jonathan Wind, Osman Osman, Austin Uhl, and Justin Ash (10:21.32), James Thatcher, James Connally, Grady Greenwood, and Thomas Ogden (10:22.27), and Trevor Nichols, Reuben Manzer, Maxximus Richmond, and Cristian Mendoza (10:23.96) all met the standard. On the women's side, the team of Sadie McCoy, Nora Roscoe, Skotlyn Hill, and Riley Morris also secured a "B" standard with a time of 12:31.41.
