Medrano named a Champion of Character

HELENA, Mont. – The Frontier Football Conference announced Tuesday morning its West Division Champions of Character honorees, presented by WinWon Technologies. One student-athlete from each program is chosen by their Head Coach for exemplifying the values of the NAIA's Champions of Character initiative. This year, Eastern Oregon University's selection is junior linebacker Nehemiah Medrano.

The Champions of Character initiative is built on five core values—integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership. These principles guide the NAIA's mission to provide meaningful training that helps student-athletes, coaches, and parents not only understand these values, but consistently practice them in every setting. By keeping these five pillars at the center of the athletic experience, the program encourages participants to develop balance, accountability, and a strong moral foundation both in competition and in daily life.

Medrano, a standout junior from Prosser, Washington, embodies these ideals in every aspect of his involvement with Eastern Oregon football. His coaching staff describes him as "a true Champion of Character, exemplifying integrity, leadership, and a commitment to community service. His unwavering dedication to fair play and respect on and off the field inspires teammates and peers alike. Through his actions, he demonstrates that character and sportsmanship while making a positive impact both on and off the field."
