HELENA, Mont. – Eastern Oregon University football was strongly represented in the 2025 Frontier Conference–West Division postseason awards, with thirteen Mountaineers earning recognition for their outstanding performances throughout the season.
Headlining EOU's honorees,
Nehemiah Medrano (LB),
Sam Cadenas (DL),
Jason Grant (DB), and
Ethan Cutler (K) were each named to the First Team All-Conference list.
Medrano anchored the Mountaineer defense, finishing the season with 90 total tackles (38 solo, 52 assisted), the second-most tackles for loss on the team at 7.5 for 20 yards, along with one sack, four pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries. His production placed him among the conference's best, ranking 3rd in total tackles, 4th in assisted tackles, and 3rd in tackles per game.
Joining him in the defensive spotlight, defensive back
Jason Grant put together an impressive campaign with 74 tackles (41 solo, 33 assisted), a team-high three interceptions, and two fumble recoveries. Grant also contributed four pass breakups, 3.5 tackles for loss, and a sack, finishing the year ranked 6th in the conference in solo tackles.
On the defensive line,
Sam Cadenas added disruptive power up front, recording 38 tackles (15 solo, 23 assisted), six tackles for loss totaling 28 yards, and 4.0 sacks—the second-most on the team—while also forcing a fumble and contributing a pass breakup.
Rounding out the First Team group, specialist
Ethan Cutler emerged as one of the top punters in the conference. Cutler led the league in punting statistics, booting 62 punts for 2,541 yards, averaging 41.0 yards per punt, with a long of 69 yards. He placed 25 punts inside the 20 and hit 15 punts of 50-plus yards. In addition, he converted 6 of 12 field goal attempts, including three from beyond 20 yards and three from beyond 30, and handled kickoff duties with 35 kicks for 2,004 yards, averaging 57.3 yards per kick.
Two more Mountaineers earned Second Team All-Conference recognition:
Michael Lenke (LB) and
Tyler Creswick (WR).
Lenke was a consistent force on defense, finishing second on the team with 79 tackles (38 solo, 52 assisted), along with 2.5 tackles for loss, one interception, two pass breakups, and one fumble recovery. His performance placed him 5th in the conference in both solo tackles and total tackles, as well as 6th in tackles per game, underscoring his steady impact throughout the season.
On the offensive side, Creswick proved to be a dynamic playmaker, hauling in 42 receptions for 561 yards—an average of 13.36 yards per catch—and scoring three touchdowns. His season was highlighted by a spectacular 96-yard touchdown reception against Simpson, one of the year's top offensive moments for EOU.
