Three Mountaineers Earn Player of the Week Honors

Eastern Oregon University had three athletes earn Player of the Week in their respective sports and conferences. Football's Ethan Cutler was named the Erck Hotels Frontier Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his standout kicking performance on Saturday. In soccer, Peyton Jacaway and Henry Lopez were honored as this week's Cascade Collegiate Conference McDonald's Players of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, for their impressive offensive contributions.

Football- Special Teams
Ethan Culter, the senior kicker from Eagle, Idaho, delivered a dominant performance in EOU's 21-7 road victory over Southern Oregon. He booted seven punts for 309 yards, averaging 44.1 yards per punt, including a long of 67 yards and two punts downed inside the opponents 20-yard line. Cutler also recorded three punts of 50+ yards, consistently flipping field position. On kickoffs, he totaled 249 yards on four attempts, averaging 62.3 yards. To top it off, he was perfect on PATs, going 3-for-3. His all-around special teams performance was a key contributor to the team's success this week. This marks Cutler's second career Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.

Women's Soccer- Offensive
Peyton Jacaway, the junior midfielder from Elko, Nevada, had a stellar week on the pitch, netting 3 goals— including two game-winners — to lead the Mounties to two 2-1 victories. She delivered a clutch performance with 1 goal on 2 shots (both on goal) in the 68th minute against OIT, then followed it up with two penalty kick goals against (RV) SOU. Jacaway tallied 4 shots and 3 shots on goal across both matches. Her offensive impact was undeniable, leading to earning her first CCC Player of the Week award of her career.

Men's Soccer- Offensive
Lopez, the junior forward from Van Nuys, California came through in a big way with the game-winning goal in the 53rd minute against (RV) SOU — his third of the season. He finished this week with a total of 5 shots on the week, consistently pressuring opposing defenses, creating scoring chances and making a key impact in a crucial match. This is Lopez's first career CCC Player of the Week award.
