KANSAS CITY, Mo. – No. 1 Eastern Oregon University has once again stayed in the top spot of the NAIA Women's Volleyball Top 25, further solidifying its status as the team to beat this season.
This marks the Mountaineers' fourth consecutive appearance at No. 1 in the national rankings, as they remain undefeated at 20-0 (12-0 CCC). EOU enters the week riding a five-match sweep streak and has dropped only six of 66 sets played this season.
Leading the way for the Mounties are
Keira Vaughn and
Kiauna Mack, who average 3.30 and 2.97 kills per set, respectively. Not far behind is
Brooke Womack, averaging 2.64 kills per set while leading the team with 29 service aces.
Mack also anchors the defense at the net with 1.74 blocks per set, while
Jaycee Villastrigo continues to hold down the back row with 230 total digs and counting.
Heading into the weekend, momentum remains on Eastern's side as the Mountaineers travel to face No. 8 Corban, which dropped four spots in this week's poll, and No. 23 Bushnell, a new addition to the Top 25. Both matchups pose a challenge on the road, but EOU holds the upper hand after defeating both teams at home earlier this season.
