LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Mountaineers wrapped up Saturday with their third conference victory of the week, sweeping Multnomah in straight sets at Quinn Coliseum. EOU improved to 16-1 overall and 8-1 in Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) play, while the Lions dropped to 1-12 overall and 1-8 in the CCC.
The Mountaineers established control early, hitting .321 in the first set to secure a 25-15 win. In the second set, EOU kept the pressure on, winning 25-17, and closed out the match with a dominant 25-11 performance in the third.
Eastern Oregon was led by a dominant offensive showing from Keira Vaughn, who tallied a match-high 19 kills on a blistering .667 hitting percentage. Ashton Bales added 9 kills and 2 blocks, while Emma Burlingame contributed 6 kills and 1 service ace. The Mountaineers hit .352 as a team, recording 44 kills and 10 blocks across the three sets.
Defensively, libero Hailey Arritola anchored the backline with 18 digs, while setter Alexis McMurtrey orchestrated the offense with 19 assists and 4 service aces. McMurtrey also added a kill and 8 digs.
For Multnomah, Jade Ilaoa led the team with 6 kills, while JahNay Jardine contributed 4 kills and 1 block. The Lions struggled offensively, hitting just .045 as a team and committing 16 attack errors.
