Box Score LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers cruised to a 6-0 win over Evergreen State College on Friday, at Community Stadium. A dominant first half saw the Mountaineers take a 4-0 lead, setting the tone for the match.
Angel Sandoval opened the scoring for EOU at the 15-minute mark with an assist from
Milton Hernandez. Hernandez then followed up with a goal of his own at 28:30, bringing his season tally to two. Before halftime,
Daniel Kropf (42:10) and
Jesus Alvarez (44:39) each added goals to extend the Mountaineers' lead.
The second half saw two more goals from EOU, with
Tawanda Rice scoring at 72:10, and
Greer Snellman converting a penalty at 79:27 to seal the victory. The Mounties outshot the Geoducks 19-3, with 9 of their shots on goal.
Evergreen struggled to find offensive momentum, managing only three shots, two of which were saved by Mountaineers' goalkeeper
Kevin Pullara, who earned the shutout. Despite 13 fouls and two yellow cards, the Geoducks were unable to break through the Mounties' defense.
