Men’s Track and Field and Cross Country Finishes 12th in NAIA Program of the Year Standings

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced the 2024 Jack Hazen Men's Program of the Year standings on Tuesday morning. After another strong year, Eastern Oregon University Men's Track & Field and Cross Country finished at No. 12 nationally.

In order to qualify for the award programs must qualify and place in all three National Championships. Scores are then determined based on team finish at each championship. A first-place finish results in 1 point, a second-place finish results in 2 points and so forth. The program with the lowest total score across the cross country championship, indoor track and field championship, and outdoor track and field championship is crowned the Jack Hazen Program of the Year.

Eastern finished 12th with 62 total points. The program's best performance came in cross country where they finished seventh in the nation. EOU added 15 points from the outdoor season and 38 points from the indoor season.

The 12th-place finish is one spot back from last year's finish at No. 11. Their highest finish came during the 2017-2018 season when they took 3rd with 30.5 points. The award and standings were introduced during the 2015-2016 season.
