LEWISTON, Idaho - In a hard-fought battle at the P1FCU Activity Center, the Eastern Oregon men's basketball team came up short against Lewis-Clark State with a final score of 84-66.

The Mountaineers struggled to maintain pace with the Warriors throughout the game, trailing by 10 points at the halftime break and ultimately giving up 47 second-half points to the Warriors.

Despite the loss, Eastern Oregon held its ground in the paint, outscoring Lewis-Clark State 38-42 down low and winning the rebound battle 34-31. However, the Warriors held the Mounties to just 2-20 three-point shooting on the night.

The leading scorer for Eastern Oregon was Garrett Hawkes, contributing 20 points and six rebounds. Hawkes was an efficient 8-of-14 from the field, while Jonny Hillman also played a key role with 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals.

Lewis-Clark State's offensive efficiency proved to be a significant factor in their victory, shooting an impressive 59.3% from the field for the game. Alton Hamilton led the charge for the Warriors with 18 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Eastern Oregon will look to bounce back next weekend when they face Multnomah on February 9th at Quinn Coliseum.
