Northwest Takes Friday Victory Over Eastern Oregon

KIRKLAND, Wash. - Eastern Oregon men's basketball tipped off against Northwest University in Kirkland, eventually falling to a final score of 69-76 on Saturday night.

Leading by a single point after the first half, the Eagles claimed a seven-point victory despite shooting just 14.3% from distance in the second half. Rebounding played a crucial role throughout the game, with Northwest claiming a 15-rebound advantage on the boards.

Eastern Oregon's offense was led by an efficient performance from Preston Chandler, with 21 points on 8-11 shooting from the field. Chandler was closely followed by Jonny Hillman, who contributed 14 points, with AJ Huddleston also adding 9 points for the Mountaineers.

Northwest's balanced scoring attack proved to be the difference-maker, with Trent Williams leading the way with 18 points, supported by Luke Howard and Manuel Zapater, who scored 12 and 10 points respectively.

With this result, Eastern Oregon moves to a record of 11-14 overall and 10-9 in conference play. The Mounties will regroup and prepare for their next challenge as they face off against Evergreen State tomorrow at 5:00 p.m.
